Writtle College, Writtle Village Chelmsford
CBP Architects were delighted to be appointed as lead designers and master planners for this college campus re-development.
The brief was to develop 7000ms of new teaching, leisure and demonstration space over 6 buildings, the refurbishment of further existing buildings and the overall master planning of the core campus.
The college has a land based curriculum and as such, part of the design proposal included outline landscaping for the whole of the central brown field site which covers several acres. This space is to be handed back to the college with state of the art facilities and amenity space.
The project offers the company a unique opportunity to merge the built environment with the outstanding natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.
